Buckets Basketball Credentials
The Buckets Basketball program has been carefully designed by educators and coaches using both the Canadian Sport for Life and Basketball Canada's Long Term Athlete Development Model. Founded in sound pedagogy and scoped and sequenced to allow for appropriate fundamental growth, our program is safe for all participants, both physically and mentally.
Buckets Basketball is proud to be Canada Basketball Verified. The Canada Basketball Verification Program is available to all basketball clubs, associations, and community groups across the nation. The program raises standards to guide all associations across Canada towards best principles and practices for organizational development. The Verification Program integrates important aspects of coaching, Safe Sport, and organizational leadership. Becoming Canada Basketball Verified encourages basketball providers to add accountability to their mandates and provides a welcoming, safe, and developmentally appropriate environment for all players and members.
Buckets Basketball is also a member organization of Basketball Alberta. The Alberta Basketball Association (ABA) is the governing body for the sport of basketball in Alberta. The ABA is committed to providing a safe environment and fair competition for all of its members. This policy applies to all basketball related activities, events and tournaments participated in, organized by and run by ABA and its members.
Buckets Basketball is designed to support the Rule of Two
The Rule of Two serves to protect minor athletes in potentially vulnerable situations by ensuring more than one adult is present. The goal of the Rule of Two is to ensure all interactions and communications are open, observable, and justifiable. This includes closed-door meetings, travel, and training environments, amongst others.
